The molded wood grain was sanded off the thighboard and lines were scribed to simulate planks. A plastic strip was cemented to its forward edge and the clumsy cleat's semi-circular recess cut with a round jeweler's file. I filed a groove in the top of the stem to represent the bow chock, then cut the tail pieces from the chock so that they sloped down to cleats. I believe thse were to catch the line and prevent it from sweeping across the boat should it escape the chock in the stem. The tail pieces at the stern were removed entirely. A new cuddy board was made from plastic card and scribed to simulate planking. A loggerhead was created from stretched sprue. Lifting eyes were made from black annealed wire. I made the two line tubs by cutting thick slices from large diameter sprue. These were wrapped with thin, wider plastic strips, forming a rim for the tubs. I drilled a hole inthe center of each tub and coiled line from inside the rim to the hole.
