At this point a length of plastic tubing was mounted into the stern with braces cut from .040" sheet. The tubing has an inside diameter of 1/8" and serves as the socket for the 1/8" stainless steel welding rod used for the display stand. I then cut sides from more sheet plastic and glued them to the deck and bottom. Rectangular holes cut in the lower sides and bottom of the aft section backed with sheets of plastic would also receive "liftwood" panels. Seams and gaps were filled and sanded and the hull was essentially complete.
