The railing stanchions are commercial turned brass fittings. I used waxed line for the railings except around the semicircular gun wings. There I made railings from annealed steel wire. The mast was turned from a wood dowel. Finally, I rigged the model with beeswaxed synthetic line. The Wasp was a lot of fun to build and is a crowd pleaser at public displays. It has done well in model competition also, winning the 1st place award in scratchbuilt sf and the Best Spacecraft award at the 1990 IPMS Nationals in Miami.
