Mirai capture-1

The story opens with the most advanced destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the JDS Mirai, sailing from Japan to take part in a training exercise with the United States Navy at Hawaii. Half way across the Pacific Ocean, near Midway Island, they encounter a strange meteorological anomaly. The Mirai loses contact with her sister ships and finds herself sailing by the unmistakable silhouette of a Imperial Japanese Navy battleship, the Yamato. Somehow, the Mirai has traveled back in time to June 4, 1942. The crew of the Mirai is then faced with terrible decisions; should they take their ship, the most powerful single ship in the world, into the conflict? And, if so, on which side?
