Batmobile 1966 12

The cockpit required a number of mods. The dashboard is molded with the "roll-top" cover open. In most pictures of the Batmobile they are closed. I made these covers from Evergreen "metal siding" plastic sheet. A piece of the siding sheet cut to the width of the opening was rolled over a 1/8" steel rod to curve it. This was tricky because of the small radius needed and the tendency of the siding to crack along the corrugations. I eventually got covers glued into the dashboard. The center panel was left open and a frame for the "television screen" glued in. The gauges on the console are extras from Horizon's Batmobile of 1950 decal sheet. The top of the steering wheel was removed and another gauge decal placed in its center.
