The Futura has a prominent V-shaped molding strip along the sides that joined the front and rear bumpers in a straight line. Barris cut this strip when he opened the wheel wells from their original half skirted design to full openings. He restored the flow by adding fender flares the same width as the molding. I printed at 1/25 scale a broadside view of the Batmobile captured from video and used it as the template to cut the wheel wells open.
