Destroyermen is a popular alternate history military science fiction book series by Taylor Anderson, following the crew of the WWI-era destroyer USS Walker. During a battle with a Japanese task force at the beginning of WWII, the Walker sails into a squall and is transported to an alternate Earth where dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures evolved into dominant species. The series chronicles their struggle for survival and their involvement in a war between two sentient species, the Lemurians (evolved lemurs) and the Grik (evolved velociraptors), using their advanced (for that world) technology to influence the conflict. The main series consists of 15 books, starting with "Into the Storm."
