A display case was made from clear acrylic sheet. More acrylic was crushed with a hammer to produce a lot of small irregularly shaped pieces. This was glued to the top of the case to simulate the underside of the Polar ice sheet as seen in the movie. Acrylic sheet was doused in solvent to make it translucent and cut into irregular triangular shapes. These were glued to the top and back side of the case to make the icerbergs jutting down into the sea.
