    The Martian Spider's main weapons are very flexible and strong metal tentacles. I happened to have some bicycle control cables made from a strong but bendable steel wire wrapped with much smaller gold colored wire. The diameter seemed about right for the 1/72 war machine. I added the pointed blade tips made from .010 styrene sheet.
