    The model was mounted on my standard oak trimmed base and covered by a clear acrylic case. The base was decorated with the Space:1889 logo and printed descriptions of the ships characteristics and the story's premise. The model has done well in competitions, winning a number of awards in local and regional contests and a first place award in its class at the 1991 IPMS National Convention in St. Louis.
