iron mole 02

The Iron Mole is the vehicle that transports the two main characters from the surface of the Earth to the vast hollow core. The Iron Mole prop built for the movie is large, seventeen feet long, and very complex with many lights and moving parts. It survives to this day, having been left to the elements for a long time but now undergoing a full restoration. This image appears to be a screen cap from the movie showing the Iron Mole on its launch platform shortly before its plunge into the mountain seen on the left.
