The head from one of these teddy bears was just the right size for the figure. The body of the teddy bear was cut away to leave a short conical neck at the bottom of the head. The uniform collar of the figure was hollowed to receive the head. The head was carefully positioned and, since it was styrene, cemented in place with Testor's liquid cement. The chin strap was removed from the helmet and notches were cut in the helmet for the Hoka's ears. The figure was painted using standard methods, though I prefer more subtle shadowing than seems to be currently popular.(this model is based on the Hoka stories by Poul Anderson and Gordon R. Dickson)
