When I build a model, I like to have a context to motivate myself. I find it much easier to build a specific ship with a name, a crew and a story that I can visualize as I work. The story may be historical but I have no qualms about taking my inspiration from fiction. If fact, I really prefer to do so as it allows me to create in three dimensions what I have visualized as I read. "Undine" is one of two ship models I've built drawn from the Richard Bolitho series by Alexander Kent. The other is "Gorgon."
