I spent some time carefully carving the end of the tiller into the shape of a hawk's head. This feature was mentioned in Woodman's novel as something the crew had done to personify the "Kestrel," since cutters did not have figureheads fitted. Unfortunately, it appears that my work is too small or too subtle, since no-one has ever noticed it until it is pointed out to them.
