I began with a hull salvaged from a model of a British bomb ketch which I had built from the Pyro kit many years ago and which had since been damaged during a move. At 1:150, my preferred scale, the hull was 75 scale feet long, just what I needed. The plastic hull was stripped of all surface detail. It was widened and the bows were reshaped. A new keel, stempost, sternpost and deadwood were made from plastic card. Plastic strip was used to “plank” the hull and for the wales. New gunports were cut in the sides.
