The part of the scorpion kit used with the least amount of modification was the tail. I cut the tail into separate segments and sanded each into as smooth and regular a shape as I could manage. New joints between the tail segments were made from thin plastic card. When reassembled, the tail had a sufficiently machine-like appearance but still looked like a scorpion’s tail. The final step was to replace the stinger at the tail’s tip with a ray blaster. This was made from a piece salvaged from a Star Wars C3P0 kit.
