Once I’d started work on the conversion of the scorpion from the AMT kit, it became evident that very little of it could actually be used. The kit parts were sculpted to represent a real scorpion so they were not regular or uniform except in a very general way. Plus, they were textured to represent the natural hard shell of a living creature and looked nothing like a mechanical device. So I started by discarding the legs and making new ones from plastic tubing and plastic pearls.
