It is common for cylindrical parts of models to be molded in two halves. I've sometimes had problems with the seams cracking after the model is assembled. Even the moderate pressure applied by picking the model up stresses the seams. So, I've taken to reinforcing the seams by gluing strips of plastic to the inside of the model. Here a strip is held in place by clamps while the cement dries.
