The Lockheed XF-90 in Twin Earths

Alejandro Sergio Marí sent me the following: "Respect to the Lockheed F-90, circa 1954 it was also displayed (in its original twin-engined arrangement) at Lebeck & McWilliams' outstanding TWIN EARTHS. Here I send you two scans from my R.Susor reprints."

DLT: The artist for this book did a very nice job rendering the classic lines of the XF-90 though, like the Blackhawks' artists, he made it a little sleeker and considerably smaller than the actual aircraft.

It's nice to see the XF-90, the plane that some consider the most beautiful ever built, getting a little more exposure in comic books. Of course, the fact that it was a prototype that never went into production makes it understandable that it doesn't have the same recognition value as its contemporaries like the F-86 or the F-94 (the latter appeared on the box top of Lindberg's UFO kit, the first sci-fi model kit, and is still visible on Polar Lights reissue of that kit).
