Bad Guy Machines
This "Weapon for Conquest" was a variation on the War Wheel concept. It made just one appearance in issue No. 086. The Hoopster actually was not a one shot villian. He made two appearances on his own and one in the form of an impersonator. This picture is from the cover of his first encounter with the Blackhawks, in issue No. 135. The Topster's "Whirling Dervish" released metal balls attached to cables as it whirled, to smash its opposition. From issue No. 168. A gang calling themselves the Blackhawk Wreckers used a number of large mechanical devices to battle the Black Knights, including this giant squid; from issue No. 224. The dispicable Professor Merson let loose this giant steel worm on the city of London in issue No. 266.
