Bad Guy Aircraft

Second only to the War Wheel in number of appearances, the Flying Tank seems amazingly impractical. A whole platoon of the Flying Tanks made the first appearance in Blackhawk No. 106. Though stored in the Blackhawk's Victory Museum, as shown here from No. 109, February 1957, like the War Wheel the Flying Tank was always getting loose to cause havoc, usually under the control of a criminal, but in issue No. 141, it was Hendrickson's aunt who set it off while dusting!

These drill nosed jets could dive into the earth as well as fly through the sky. They were featured on the cover of issue No. 049.

An early excursion into science fiction had the Blackhawks battleing these alien mechanical birds in The Delphian Menace, from issue No. 100.

These jet powered kites flown by the Raven Gang don't seem like they would be much of a threat, but in issue No. 122 they proved a tough nut for the Blackhawks to crack.

A sky-borne criminal called the Dragon flew this Dragon-plane in issue No. 131. It looks a bit like a B-47 to me.

The Smoke Master used this plane fitted with trick smoke gadgets to commit his crimes in issue No. 136.

The Cat-man flew this sleek jet in issue No. 141. This small picture doesn't show it well, but the gray blob on the side is a cat's head insignia.

The Flying Buzzsaw chopped up buildings, Hawkjets and the Safari Mobile in issue No. 162.

Another criminal, who apparently bought his private jet from the same manufacturer as the Cat-man, flew this plane in issue No. 163.

The Buzzard only appeared in one issue, No. 165, but he flew a really cool looking buzzard shaped plane, a much better design than King Condor's.

I don't know why, but I really like these little egg-shaped autogyros, flown by The Spade Gang in issue No. 187.
