Crisis on Earth-X!: The JLA's annual visit with the JSA on Earth-2 goes haywire and Superman, Dr. Fate, the Sandman, Green Arrow, Batman and the Elongated Man are transported to Earth-X where the Nazis won WW II and occupy America. The Freedom Fighters, led by Uncle Sam, battle on. While recounting the history that created Earth-X, Uncle Sam mentions that the Blackhawks and Plastic Man (as shown in the panel at right) were killed in the battle against the Nazis, but since the war didn't end till 1968, the date of the Blackhawks' deaths is still unknown.
For a more detailed history and synopsis of the story in both JLA #107 and #108, see the article in FANZING.
I have written a fan fiction story that is set in this universe. It takes place in early 1946, with the Blackhawks still fighting the Nazis, flying P-80 jets against Me 262s. See Blackhawks on Earth-X for the whole story.
