Issue No. 237
... November 1967 The Magnificent Assassins: With this issue, Blackhawk went from a monthly to a bi-monthly schedule. This was usually a sign that a comic book title was in trouble and was hardly a surprise in the case of Blackhawk. In this story, the Blackhawks are accused of causing the death of another agent of GEORGE, a likable character named Johnny Vak who is on his first mission. In a well written story we are taken through the failed mission from the viewpoints of each of the Blackhawks. In the last chapter, we learn that Vak is actually an android and can't really be killed. A cliffhanger ending has Vak joining with the bad guy, Barbarossa, to capture the Blackhawks.
