January 1966Five Links to Eternity: Mr. Cipher sends the Blackhawks to guard three inventions of a world famous scientist. On the way they meet Killer Shark and Zinda, Queen Killer Shark, formerly Lady Blackhawk, who intend to get the inventions for themselves. In a dog fight between the Blackhawks' VTOL jets and Killer Shark's new, larger Shark-jet, the Black Knights triumph and the Shark-jet crashes in the sea. Zinda is apparently killed. At the scientist's island home the Blackhawks must overcome various obstacles (like giant shrimp) to recover the inventions, only to find out that Killer Shark is impersonating the scientist and Zinda traps the Blackhawks in an active volcano, but they are saved by a deux ex machina.
Combat Diary - Operation Backfire: On a mission to rescue captured scientists, the Blackhawks are surprised and captured by the men they are trying to rescue. The scientist are mind controlled by devices worn behind their ears. When the camp commandant orders the prisoners to form a firing squad and execute the Blackhawks, the team uses their belt radios to interfer with the controlling signals and the prisoners turn on their former captors.
