Chuck woke briefly when the War Wheel got under way again. They must have finished reloading the Me 263. The noise and vibration of the rolling war machine topped anything he'd experienced before, but he acclimated quickly and nodded off again. The next time he awoke it was to the sounds of gunfire, both the firing of the War Wheel's guns and the impact of shells on the Nazi machine's armor. Now he knew what it sounded like on the inside.

Kilroy appeared at the door to his cage. “Your buddies must have finished their other mission because they are buzzing around this thing like flies on a cow patty. Their machine guns aren't doing any real damage but they are just the diversion we need.”
