In 1988, DC tried a fairly bold venture when it turned Action Comics into a 48 page weekly. It featured six stories in each issue. Superman and Green Lantern appeared in every issue, but the other titles rotated on a regular schedule. One of the rotating titles was Blackhawk, which completed three story arcs before being promoted to its own magazine.
