El Halcon Negro Issue No. 23

"El Halcón Negro" Nº23, Editora de Periódicos "La Prensa" (Mexico), 30 June 1953. One of the early issues, with stuff made by the Quality group, commanded by the great Reed Crandall. The first story -which is not the cover piece-, "El Ataque que terminaría el Mundo" ("The Attack to End the World"), shows, in fact, the master's line in all its glory; then, we have "Chop-Chop" with its funny bent, followed by "Las Sierras Voladoras" ("Flying Saws"), in which the Caniffian Dragon Lady somehow managed to squeeze; and, finally, "El Halcón Perdió sus Alas"("Blackhawk Lost his Wings"), matching the cover caption, but for the verb tense, which is present on the cover. A highly enjoyable comic book, well in the "Blackhawk" established tradition of strong, clever scripts and over-average art.

Editor's Note: compare to Blackhawk #63.

Thanks to Carlos M. Federici for providing this issue.
