August 1949Story #1 - Skagg's raiders capture Andre and his plane to use in their raids. Investigating, the Blackhawks are captured by Skagg and his lovely companion, Dorna. Escaping from a cave-in, the Hawks accidently shoot Skagg, and Dorna is eaten by a crocodile while attempting to escape.
Chop-Chop: Chop goes to tiny Won Lung to see his cousin, Emperor Chop Chin. Prime Minister Hoo Duck, who really rules, mistakes Chop for his cousin, and tries to eliminate him so he can become Emperor. Chop uses his Blackhawk training to defeat Hoo Duck, and restore Chop Chin to the throne.
Menace of a Sunken World: A tiny atoll, Kauno, plunges below the waves in 1849, but suddenly rises again in 1949. The Blackhawks, on routine patrol, spot a merchant ship exploding and land to investigate. Dr. Morbus, in possesion of a treasure map, has destroyed the ship to keep news of the atoll from the world. Leading his men in search of the treasure of pirate captain Zaragossa, Dr. Morbus fights the Hawks, but is defeated, and drowns as Kauno plunges back below the ocean's surface. (Editor's Note: This story features the Blackhawks' jets equipped with floats and robot controls. I don't know if any real jets were ever fitted with floats, but a jet-powered seaplane fighter was experimented with by the British
